This full-time one-year program, or part-time over two years (maximum duration), is offered in Hobart and potentially in Launceston depending on supervisor availability. The program objectives include: delivering advanced education in the student's undergraduate major field, fostering research skills to prepare for postgraduate studies (such as MSc and PhD programs) or research-oriented careers, and developing specialized expertise in a specific scientific discipline. Honors graduates gain significant advantages in professional fields related to their specialization. BSc(Hons) graduates qualify for membership in various professional associations. Students will undertake independent research culminating in a thesis. Additional requirements may include completing advanced coursework units, producing literature reviews, writing essays and grant proposals, and delivering seminar presentations. Every specialization features mandatory core units for the research component, with some specializations offering optional coursework electives.
