This full-time one-year or part-time two-year (maximum duration) program is offered in Hobart and, depending on supervisor availability, in Launceston. The program delivers: specialized training in the student's undergraduate major discipline, research methodology preparation, qualifications for advanced studies (such as MSc and PhD programs) and research-oriented careers, plus concentrated expertise in a specific scientific field. Honors graduates gain strong professional advantages in their chosen specialties. BSc(Hons) graduates qualify for membership in various professional associations. Students will undertake independent research culminating in a thesis. Depending on their specialization, candidates may need to complete advanced coursework units and additional requirements like literature reviews, academic papers, funding proposals, and seminar presentations. Each specialization includes mandatory core units for the research component, with some offering optional coursework electives.
