Gain foundational knowledge about how physical activity impacts individual and community health. This program equips you for careers as exercise or sports scientists, or for advanced study in research or allied health fields. You'll study various life sciences such as biology, biochemistry, anatomy, physiology, and psychology, along with their real-world applications. Through hands-on placements, you'll develop expertise in assessing, monitoring, and designing fitness programs for diverse groups, from general populations to elite athletes. Career opportunities span both private and public sectors, with potential for further research or graduate studies in sports science, clinical exercise physiology, physiotherapy, or medicine. This three-year program, located in Launceston, Tasmania, leads to ESSA accreditation as an Exercise Scientist (currently pending approval). The Bachelor of Exercise and Sport Science meets the requirements for Exercise Scientist certification with Exercise & Sports Science Australia (ESSA).
