The Bachelor of Economics with Honours program provides graduates of the Bachelor of Economics an additional year of specialized study to deepen their expertise in a chosen field, preparing them for professional careers or advanced academic pursuits like Master's or Doctoral degrees. This full-time one-year or part-time two-year program is delivered on-campus by the Tasmanian School of Business and Economics (TSBE) in Hobart. The honours year focuses on enhancing research capabilities and communication skills while laying the groundwork for postgraduate studies in Economics or Finance. Develop expert-level theoretical and practical economic understanding to make well-informed judgments and decisions Utilize sophisticated methods to analyze intricate economic challenges and evaluate policy matters Examine the significance of underlying assumptions and value judgments in economic theory and policy formulation Effectively convey economic concepts, present findings, and support arguments through both oral presentations and written reports Design and complete an independent research initiative
Course Specific Requirements Entry to the Bachelor of Economics Honours program is open to students who have completed: Bachelor of Economics with Society and Environment major with a minimum of 65 average in four level 300 Economics units and a minimum of 65 in BEA242; OR Bachelor of Economics with Industry, Policy and Business Strategy major with a minimum of 65 average in four level 300 Economics units; OR Bachelor of Business with Business Economics major with a minimum of 65 average in four level 300 Economics units and a minimum of 65 in BEA242; OR Equivalent approved program
