The Bachelor of Business with Honours program equips students with research-oriented knowledge, skills, and practical experience, preparing them for professional research roles or advanced studies like a Master's or Doctoral degree. Through research-focused coursework, an independent project supervised by faculty, and a dissertation, students gain comprehensive research training. This Honours program spans one year full-time or two years part-time at the Hobart campus, with potential availability at Launceston depending on enrollment and supervision capacity. Flexible attendance options are incorporated across all units. The program's objective is to deepen students' academic interests and research capabilities while establishing a strong foundation for postgraduate studies within the Tasmanian School of Business and Economics (TSBE).

Qualification Requirements

Admission to Honours courses at the University of Tasmania require qualifications equivalent to an Australian bachelor’s degree. Applicants must achieve the required grade in their qualifying studies, meet any prerequisite subjects and the English language requirements to be eligible for an offer. Admission is conditional on research project and supervisor availability. Course Specific Requirements Entry to the Bachelor of Business Honours program is open to students who have completed the Bachelor of Business (or equivalent approved qualification) with an average of distinction or higher in at least 50% of the final year units of the pass degree. Honours candidates in Management require an average of credit or higher for the 200 and 300 level units forming the relevant major(s) in their degree. Candidates in Management must also have passed the unit BMA331 Marketing Research or an acceptable equivalent unit. TOEFL (iBT) - 72 (no skill below: Reading 10; Listening 9; Speaking 16; Writing 19) IELTS (Academic) - 6.0 (no individual band less than 5.5 PTE Academic - 50 with no score lower than 42
