The Bachelor of Arts with Honours program provides an opportunity for students who have finished their Bachelor of Arts degree to engage in an additional year of specialized study. This advanced coursework helps deepen expertise in a chosen field, preparing graduates for professional careers or further academic pursuits like Master's or Doctoral degrees. Honours graduates will gain sophisticated understanding of core theories and methodologies within Humanities or Social Sciences, along with research competencies. This intensive program spans one year full-time (or two consecutive years part-time, subject to School approval) and is offered in both Hobart and Launceston. Through the Bachelor of Arts with Honours, you will acquire the ability to: Exhibit comprehensive mastery of fundamental theories and research approaches within humanities and social science disciplines; Analyze, critically assess, and synthesize complex social, cultural, political, ethical, and environmental issues from diverse local and global perspectives; Effectively communicate specialized knowledge to both expert and general audiences through various media; Apply professional judgment in problem-solving, decision-making, and project planning; Conduct independent academic research within humanities/social science fields; Develop adaptable workplace skills including self-direction, innovation, and resilience.
