Criminal activity presents daily challenges for governments and communities. Addressing crime requires analyzing its origins and mechanisms. Criminology examines criminal behavior, justice systems, and societal responses; it investigates criminalization processes, offense motivations, social circumstances surrounding crimes, prevention strategies, control mechanisms, and offender rehabilitation approaches. This major explores justice concepts, optimal crime response methods, while questioning media influence, legislative roles, and courtroom realities. Our curriculum includes global case studies alongside local community examples, covering offenses from digital crimes and violent acts to fraud and ecological violations.
