If you're considering a maritime career or aiming to advance in the industry, the Australian Maritime College's Bachelor of Applied Science (Marine Engineering) serves as your passport to global seafaring opportunities.
This program delivers fundamental expertise and practical abilities required for overseeing, coordinating, and performing maintenance on marine engineering systems aboard vessels. Our extensive coursework covers marine engineering principles, ship structures and operations, vessel administration, maritime law, marine inspection, and onboard safety protocols. The program's unique advantage lies in its integration of professional certification courses and real-world sea training. Graduates not only obtain a bachelor's degree but also qualify for an Australian Maritime Safety Authority (AMSA) Certificate of Competency (pending fulfillment of AMSA COC criteria). Our program adheres to the strict training and education benchmarks set by the International Convention on Standards of Training, Certification, and Watchkeeping for Seafarers (2010 STCW Convention).
