Taught by the University of Tasmania's Tasmanian Institute of Agriculture (TIA), a premier research and teaching center, your education incorporates cutting-edge agricultural advancements informed by top-tier research and industry partnerships. The program features two specializations: Crop Science and Plant Health or Sustainable Agriculture. These concentrations cover diverse subjects including chemistry, spatial sciences, ecology, microbiology, agricultural economics, pasture management, soil science, and animal sciences.

Sustainable agriculture aims to fulfill current needs without jeopardizing future generations' resources - a mission that's increasingly crucial today. Focusing on ecological farming and livestock systems from both biological and environmental perspectives, you'll analyze factors affecting agricultural sectors while mastering practical and scientific methods for sustainable operations. The curriculum encompasses chemistry, geospatial technologies, ecosystem studies, microbial science, farm economics, grassland science, earth sciences, and animal husbandry.

Qualification Requirements
