The specialization allows students to explore fundamental aspects of international law while providing diverse options for focusing on both public and private international law. The program draws from the expertise of the Sydney Centre for International Law (SCIL), a premier institution for research, education, and practical application of international law across Australia and the Asia Pacific. SCIL fosters public discourse on international legal matters, provides counsel to governmental and non-governmental entities, and has recently engaged in development initiatives in Nepal, Iraq, and the Philippines. The Center organizes complimentary public seminars addressing contemporary international law topics. Coursework encompasses international law applications in: commerce, arbitration, environmental protection, human rights, military conflict, refugee issues, immigration policies, taxation agreements, global taxation systems, and specialized courses on Chinese, Japanese, and Indonesian legal systems.
The Master of Public Policy is an advanced coursework program that enhances your grasp of policy formulation and execution while examining the influences of political, social, economic, cultural, and technological factors.
Core curriculum includes studies in migration, anti-corruption measures, crisis response, governance frameworks, and environmental policy, culminating in a capstone experience involving either a research initiative or thesis. Additional elective courses are available to fulfill degree requirements.
