The social research specialization provides hands-on training in both quantitative and qualitative research methodologies applicable to social studies, program assessment, and policy analysis. This track also serves as an excellent foundation for postgraduate students considering future research degrees, particularly those undertaking coursework dissertations.
The Master of Political Economy is an advanced coursework program designed to enhance analytical thinking and communication abilities while exploring various theoretical frameworks and their real-world policy implementations.
The curriculum includes mandatory and elective Political Economy courses, culminating in either a dissertation or research project. Students may choose to specialize in Country Risk Analysis, Social Research, or Global Political Economy.
Core subjects examine economic history, theoretical frameworks, research methods, and Australia's political-economic landscape. Elective options cover specialized areas like environmental economics, business cycles, national risk evaluation, developmental economics, China's global economic role, and interdisciplinary studies.
