The Master of Philosophy (MPhil) program requires students to develop a thesis offering novel insights in their chosen field. Starting in 2021, research degree candidates must undertake coursework alongside their research. Participants can select from specialized study units designed for graduate researchers. The Faculty of Engineering emphasizes interdisciplinary research across several core areas: complex systems, data science and computer engineering, energy and environmental studies, food production and logistics, medical engineering, transportation infrastructure, IoT technologies, and intelligent robotics systems. MPhil candidates conduct their research either full-time (minimum one year) or part-time (minimum two years). Exceptional performance during annual evaluations may qualify students for advancement to a PhD program.
