The Graduate Diploma in Art Curating equips you with essential academic competencies, historical understanding, analytical perspectives, and hands-on community involvement.
This program is tailored for individuals pursuing careers or professional growth within diverse art institutions.
Upon completion, students will gain comprehensive knowledge of art museum history and cultural influence, along with insights into the evolving responsibilities of curators and contemporary professional challenges.
With instruction partially based at Sydney College of the Arts, students can utilize gallery facilities, artistic workspaces, technical resources, and engage with a vibrant postgraduate community. The program fosters partnerships with leading organizations such as the Art Gallery of New South Wales and the Museum of Contemporary Art Australia.
Admission to candidature for the Graduate Diploma in Art Curating requires:
a bachelor's degree with a major in Anthropology, Archaeology, Art History, Cultural Geography, Cultural Studies, Education, English, Gender Studies, History, Indigenous Studies or related field and a minimum 60% average calculated over the whole degree, from the University of Sydney, or an equivalent qualification; or
completion of the Graduate Certificate in Art Curating with a minimum credit (65%) average, or an equivalent qualification.
IELTS score: A minimum result of 7.0 overall and a minimum result of 6.0 in each band
TOEFL - IBT score: A minimum result of 96 overall including a minimum result of 17 in Reading, Listening and Speaking and 19 in Writing
Pearsons Test of English: A minimum result of 68 overall and a minimum result of 54 in each band
