The Graduate Diploma in Agriculture and Environment equips you to address critical global issues: ensuring food security, combating climate change, and managing carbon, water resources, and ecosystems. Through extensive hands-on training in laboratories and fieldwork, you'll gain the expertise to thrive in a dynamic industry worth over $150 billion annually, accounting for approximately 16% of Australia's export revenue while tackling pressing worldwide concerns. This intensive one-year program serves as an ideal progression for graduates holding degrees in Science, Economics, or relevant professional backgrounds (subject to accreditation approval). As part of this structured program, you'll undertake a research initiative focused on developing innovative solutions to contemporary challenges while refining your abilities in project coordination, effective communication, and interdisciplinary approaches. The curriculum offers multiple specialization tracks to align with your career aspirations. A key advantage is the program's emphasis on practical learning, significantly enhancing your employability across government and industry sectors. You'll benefit from cutting-edge facilities ranking among Australia's finest, including the pioneering Centre for Carbon, Water and Food – the nation's first such institution – along with the internationally acclaimed Plant Breeding Institute. Since 2015, our IA Watson International Grains Research Centre has stood as Australia's largest regional hub for grain research.
