Our dual degree program offers high-achieving school graduates the opportunity to begin with a three-year Bachelor of Science followed by a four-year Doctor of Medicine (MD). This pathway provides a stronger foundation in scientific principles essential for medical practice, equipping you for diverse careers ranging from specialization to research and education. As a science undergraduate, you'll learn from leading scientific minds, including Australian Academy of Science members, Australian Research Council Fellows, and recipients of distinguished awards like the Prime Minister's Prizes for Science and Eureka Prizes. Your education will take place in state-of-the-art facilities such as the Sydney Nanoscience Hub and the Charles Perkins Centre, which focuses on diabetes, obesity, and cardiovascular research. The MD program holds full accreditation from the Australian Medical Council, enabling graduates to obtain provisional registration for internships across Australia and New Zealand.
Environmental Studies explores the social, economic, and policy dimensions of environmental management and ecosystem health. This interdisciplinary major combines social and biophysical sciences within regulatory and policy contexts. It equips students with knowledge of sustainability frameworks, environmental law, ethics, development, energy economics, and political aspects crucial for careers in the environmental sector. The ENVI study units complement both natural sciences and social sciences, preparing graduates for roles in government agencies, local councils, or private environmental consultancies requiring scientific expertise and specialized environmental knowledge.
