The science honors year is a prestigious additional year of undergraduate study that you can pursue after completing your bachelor's degree. This program offers a special chance to develop your research skills and apply the theoretical knowledge gained during your undergraduate studies. A mathematics honors degree is highly valued both in academic circles and various industries that prize strong analytical thinking. Deepen your expertise by undertaking a dedicated Honors year in your chosen field. This option is open to graduates who have finished their initial studies in the relevant discipline. Honors studies can be pursued across all scientific fields, allowing you to create a customized research plan in consultation with academic supervisors. Your research may span multiple scientific disciplines (such as combining mathematics and biology) and could require specialized coursework or technical training depending on your project's requirements.

Statistical methods play a crucial role across scientific and social science disciplines, forming the foundation for drawing conclusions from uncertain data. In statistics studies, you'll explore probability theory, both theoretical and practical statistics, and their real-world applications. The curriculum covers experimental design, survey methodology, and comprehensive data analysis techniques. The School of Mathematics and Statistics provides an honors program where students conduct in-depth research projects under the guidance of faculty experts in their chosen statistical specialization.
