The science honours year is a prestigious additional undergraduate year you can pursue after completing your degree. This program lets you delve into research opportunities while applying the theoretical knowledge gained during your undergraduate studies. A mathematics honours qualification is valued both in academic circles and industries that prize scientific reasoning. Deepen your expertise by undertaking a dedicated Honours year in your chosen field, open to graduates from relevant disciplines. You can pursue honours in any scientific field, crafting a research plan with guidance from supervisors that may span multiple disciplines (such as mathematics and biology). Depending on your project, you might need additional training in experimental design or specialized equipment.

Physiology examines how bodily tissues and organs function to sustain life and enable growth. Studying physiology enhances your comprehension of bodily systems, knowledge frequently applied in clinical medicine. For aspiring physiology researchers, an honours year serves as a crucial foundation for exploring research capabilities. During this year, you'll conduct an independent research project supervised by physiology faculty while completing coursework. Typically, your project will contribute to broader academic work in the field while concentrating on a specific physiological aspect. Numerous laboratories accommodate diverse interests, including auditory neuroscience, blood cell development, cardiovascular neuroscience, human reproduction, muscle cell function, and vision research.
