Geography explores our planet as humanity's dwelling place. With growing challenges like environmental decline, sustainability concerns, demographic shifts, and globalization, geographers' expertise has become increasingly vital.
A geography major examines the dynamic relationships between Earth, ecosystems, and human communities. This includes analyzing critical topics such as climate shifts, population dynamics, natural hazards, and conservation strategies. Students can experience international field excursions, explore Australian urban and rural landscapes, and participate in seminar discussions on global disparities and economic hardship. The curriculum also incorporates digital geographic analysis, online forums, and innovative teaching methods.
The Bachelor of Science (Advanced) is an undergraduate program designed to sharpen analytical and problem-solving skills, preparing students to contribute to scientific research and global betterment. The degree begins with core science fundamentals, followed by specialization through a chosen major or stream from the Science disciplines, complemented by a secondary focus area. Students will also complete Open Learning modules and elective courses to fulfill degree requirements.
