This linguistic tradition encompasses numerous significant literary, philosophical, and political texts. Through French Studies, students gain entry to this vibrant cultural heritage.
Regardless of your current proficiency, our department offers multiple entry points for pursuing a French major. Options range from beginner to advanced levels, including accelerated progression opportunities. The curriculum covers both language acquisition and the examination of French/Francophone history, societies, literature, and cultures. Study abroad programs in France, Switzerland, or Canada are available for semester or full-year immersion.
