Animals hold great importance in human lives and societies, serving as sources of food, materials, and companionship. The Animal Health, Disease and Welfare program combines animal biology and ecology with veterinary and comparative sciences. Students explore the scientific foundations of animal health, covering physiology, molecular biology, pathogens, and welfare considerations. A key focus is on preventing, treating, and comprehending diseases in livestock, pets, and wildlife. This program equips graduates for careers in animal health fields such as disease prevention, health monitoring, welfare advocacy, and agricultural production.
The Bachelor of Liberal Arts and Science is an undergraduate program offering a foundation in both humanities and sciences. Core studies include academic writing, critical analysis, and ethics, while students select a primary focus from either Arts or Science disciplines. Complementary units from the opposite faculty enhance interdisciplinary learning. Electives from various subject areas or open courses allow students to tailor their degree requirements.
