This Industrial and Product Design specialization is designed for mechanical engineers passionate about design, particularly in product and industrial applications.
The program covers essential topics such as industrial design principles, innovative materials, and computer-aided production techniques, with possibilities to delve deeper into design thinking methodologies and product development concepts.
Students will engage in a cross-disciplinary project, applying engineering expertise and problem-solving skills to create and prototype human-centered products using our Makerspace resources.
The Bachelor of Engineering Honours (Mechanical Engineering) undergraduate program equips students to conceptualize, oversee, and optimize various mechanical systems. Through hands-on training and real-world exposure, graduates will be prepared to revolutionize machinery applications across cutting-edge industries.
Accredited by Engineers Australia and other leading engineering organizations, the curriculum includes fundamental courses in mathematics and computing, complemented by interdisciplinary project-based learning.
Participants will study core mechanical engineering subjects and specialized electives, with the option to pursue a focused concentration. The program also offers supplementary electives from Engineering disciplines or shared course pools to fulfill degree requirements.
The final year features an honors research project in mechanical engineering, alongside professional development activities through the Professional Engagement Program, culminating in industry work experience.
