The Bachelor of Advanced Computing is tailored to launch your career in computing. Accredited by the Australian Computer Society, this program builds both practical and theoretical expertise spanning computing, IT, and business transformation sectors. As part of Australia's most forward-thinking computing curriculum, you can merge your computing interests with over 100 interdisciplinary majors while developing specialized industry knowledge and technical proficiency. You'll be taught by leading experts in the field, with first year focusing on core computing fundamentals before specializing in one of four career-aligned pathways: computer science, information systems, software development, or computational data science.
The Computer Science major equips you with the tools to drive IT innovation and develop groundbreaking solutions to contemporary challenges. You'll master computational fundamentals, learning how to efficiently solve problems through computation and implement those solutions in software. Explore computational modeling and understand the boundaries of what computation can accomplish.
During your final year, you'll undertake a Computer Science Project that synthesizes and applies your accumulated knowledge to design and build computing solutions for real-world problems. Collaborating in teams for external clients under academic guidance, you'll execute the complete development cycle - from requirements gathering and design to coding, testing, and documentation. This capstone experience lets you employ agile methodologies and professional project management tools in a hands-on, industry-relevant setting.
