The Master of Social Work (Qualifying) program offers a pathway to launch a rewarding career in social work, enhancing your current abilities to create positive societal change. Gain essential competencies in clear communication, innovative problem-solving, and solution-focused approaches while completing 1,000 hours of practical training through fieldwork placements. This prepares you thoroughly for professional practice. Career opportunities for graduates include clinical work with individuals and families, as well as roles in counseling, advocacy, community development, disability support, social justice initiatives, and global development projects. You'll develop the expertise to work as an informed partner with underserved populations, promote culturally safe environments, respond effectively to diverse cultural needs, and collaborate respectfully with Indigenous communities.
Completion of an Australian university three-year bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) with a minimum of one year of Social Science subjects.
Participate in an interview with a panel of staff from the Social Work and Human Services discipline in the School of Psychology and Wellbeing.

Inherent requirements
There are inherent requirements that must be met in order to successfully complete this degree. Inherent requirements are fundamental skills, capabilities and knowledge that students must be able to demonstrate in order to achieve the essential learning outcomes of the degree, while maintaining the academic integrity of the degree.
IELTS (Academic only) - Overall minimum score of 6.5 and no individual band score of less than 6.0; TOEFL (internet based) - Overall minimum score of 90 and no individual skills score of less than 20; Pearson (PTE Academic) - Overall score of 58 and no individual Communicative Skills score of less than 58; Cambridge C1 Advanced C2 Proficiency - Overall minimum score of 185 with no less than 185 in each skill.
