The Creative Writing program equips you with skills in creative writing practice while introducing the concepts, theories, and philosophies that shape professional writing and the literary world. Explore various writing forms, genres, and techniques while mastering the process of developing, drafting, refining, and polishing work to professional standards. Develop analytical thinking about the purpose, methods, contexts, and timing of writing about experiences, places, or individuals—honing both creative and critical writing abilities to craft engaging narratives in fiction and nonfiction. You'll become part of a dynamic online and campus-based network, linking you with writing communities locally and nationally.
Graduates pursue diverse careers in creative and communication fields, working independently or within corporate and community settings such as arts, business, law, education, and media. Potential career paths include fiction/nonfiction author, poet, editor, publisher, travel writer, screenwriter, critic, business writer, game narrative designer, workshop instructor, media professional, digital content creator, and more.
Applicant must have Australian year 12 level or equivalent.
Students from different country must have qualifications equivalent to Australia.
English language requirements
IELTS (Academic only) - Overall minimum score of 6.0 and no individual band score of less than 5.5; TOEFL (internet based) - Overall minimum score of 80 and no individual skills score of less than 19; Pearson (PTE Academic) - Overall score of 50 and no individual Communicative Skills score of less than 50; Cambridge C1 Advanced C2 Proficiency - Overall minimum score of 169 with no less than 162 in each skill.
