The Master of Urban Water Engineering (Professional) equips you with comprehensive expertise to understand the complete urban water cycle and the connections between its various components.
Urbanization trends and growing water challenges in cities are intensifying, and as urban populations increase, this situation will persist for years to come. Worldwide, there's a critical need for engineers skilled in all facets of the urban water cycle and their interconnected systems.
This professional master's program enhances your technical proficiency through advanced coursework while offering elective options to broaden your specialization. You'll graduate with the problem-solving abilities needed to address complex engineering issues in our evolving global environment.
To be eligible for entry, you'll need:
a 4-year bachelor's degree (or equivalent) in a relevant discipline (see below), or a bachelor's degree (or equivalent) which includes all of the relevant discipline content (see below), or to have successfully completed 3 years of study towards an approved qualification at an overseas partner institution, with a formal pathway to the Master of Urban Water Engineering (Professional). You must have a grade point average (GPA) of 5.0 on a 7-point scale in your previous qualification
Relevant disciplines for previous qualifications
Relevant disciplines include chemical engineering, civil engineering, environmental engineering, groundwater science and engineering, hydrology and water resources engineering, hydropower engineering, water conservancy engineering, water science and engineering, and water supply and drainage (science) engineering.
If your bachelor's degree was not awarded in these disciplines, you must have successfully completed all of the following discipline content in your tertiary studies:
advanced/higher/engineering maths
chemistry
and at least 3 from:
mass and energy balances
transport and transfer
reaction engineering
water or wastewater engineering
separation process technology or unit operations
process synthesis and flowsheeting
environmental systems
fluid mechanics
hydraulics or hydrology
English language requirements
IELTS overall 6.5; reading 6; writing 6; speaking 6; listening 6. For other English Language Proficiency Tests and Scores approved for UQ; TOEFL IBT - Overall 87, listening 19, reading 19, writing 21 and speaking 19. TOEFL PB - Overall 570, listening 54, reading 54, writing 59/5. Pearsons - Overall Score of 64 and 60 in all sub bands. BE - A minimum overall grade of 4 plus a minimum grade of C in all macro skills. CES - Overall 176 and 169 in all sub bands.
