The Master of Philosophy (MPhil) is a globally acknowledged postgraduate research qualification. Under the supervision of your advisory committee, you'll conduct substantial research culminating in a 40,000-word dissertation and oral defense. Some programs may permit alternative thesis formats. This full-time program typically requires 1.5-2 years to finish, helping you cultivate sophisticated knowledge and research methodologies. As an independent research degree, applicants must demonstrate strong academic credentials, potentially including a research proposal and supplementary materials. Approximately 500 MPhil scholars enroll annually at UQ, exploring diverse subjects, with many progressing to doctoral studies.
