The Master of Philosophy (MPhil) is a globally acknowledged postgraduate research qualification. Under the supervision of your advisory committee, you'll conduct substantial research culminating in a 40,000-word dissertation and oral defense. In certain cases, your final submission may take an alternative format. This full-time program typically requires 1.5-2 years to finish, helping you cultivate sophisticated knowledge and research methodologies. As an independent research degree, the MPhil demands applicants to possess robust academic credentials, potentially including a research proposal and supplementary application materials. Approximately 500 MPhil scholars enroll annually at UQ, exploring diverse subject areas, with numerous graduates progressing to PhD studies.
