The flexible curriculum adapts to your career objectives, allowing you to enhance your current practice. Choose specialized courses to develop skills in performance, conducting, music theory, education, technology, or composition based on your interests.
Core requirements include research methodology, plus either a thesis or professional project. You'll also select advanced electives such as instrumental studies, choral/instrumental conducting, composition techniques, advanced music theory, or music technology applications.
Approved degree in the same discipline or equivalent with a GPA of 4.0; or
GCMus* or GDipMus* with a GPA of 4.0.
Same discipline in music may include studies in performance, composition, musicology, or music education. For the field of music education, a degree qualifying a person to become a classroom music teacher satisfies the requirement.
English Proficiency
IELTS overall 6.5; reading 6; writing 6; speaking 6; listening 6. For other English Language Proficiency Tests and Scores approved for UQ TOEFL IBT - Overall 87, listening 19, reading 19, writing 21 and speaking 19. TOEFL PB - Overall 570, listening 54, reading 54, writing 59/5. Pearsons - Overall Score of 64 and 60 in all sub bands. BEP - A minimum overall grade of 4 plus a minimum grade of C in all macro skills. CES - Overall 176 and 169 in all sub bands. OET is not accepted.
