Develop expertise in tackling intricate economic challenges within healthcare management and devise creative approaches to worldwide health concerns, enabling meaningful and lasting improvements in people's well-being. The Master of Health Economics program is a collaborative effort between UQ's School of Economics and School of Public Health. You'll engage directly with distinguished faculty members from both disciplines. The curriculum offers flexibility to align with your professional goals, featuring focused electives in healthcare funding, public sector economics, health system design, and economic evaluation. You may also choose to undertake an independent research project. This 24-month program is particularly suited for graduates or medical practitioners without prior economics training, as foundational courses establish essential knowledge in economic theory and public health fundamentals. Graduates will acquire the analytical skills to drive policy reform and address healthcare challenges, positioning them to enhance the enduring viability of medical systems both in Australia and internationally.
