This six-month intensive program (available full-time or part-time) helps communication graduates and professionals refine their expertise.
Select between two specialization tracks – Communication for Social Impact or Strategic Communication – with various courses that deepen your grasp of applying communication theory and research across sectors including public health, corporate communications, policy development, cross-cultural engagement, and global affairs.
The innovative Communication for Social Impact specialization examines how communication strategies can transform perspectives, actions, and understanding across individuals, institutions, and societies. For professionals with prior experience, this program enhances career prospects by building upon existing qualifications and interdisciplinary knowledge.
A bachelor's degree (or equivalent) in any discipline; or
Have completed post-secondary study or at least two years full-time work experience (see below), approved by the executive dean.
Work experience relevant to the field of Communication is defined as:
English Proficiency
IELTS overall 6.5; reading 6; writing 6; speaking 6; listening 6. For other English Language Proficiency Tests and Scores approved for UQ TOEFL IBT - Overall 87, listening 19, reading 19, writing 21 and speaking 19. TOEFL PB - Overall 570, listening 54, reading 54, writing 59/5. Pearsons - Overall Score of 64 and 60 in all sub bands. BEP - A minimum overall grade of 4 plus a minimum grade of C in all macro skills. CES - Overall 176 and 169 in all sub bands. OET is not accepted.
