The Graduate Certificate in Animal Science caters to both recent graduates from diverse academic backgrounds and experienced professionals seeking to enhance their management expertise or transition into the animal science field.
During your six months of full-time study, you'll choose from more than 40 courses, gaining specialized knowledge and practical skills tailored to your chosen study areas.
UQ's Animal Science alumni showcase strong leadership, research, and analytical capabilities to address worldwide challenges in food production, environmental sustainability, and growing demands for animal welfare standards, biosecurity measures, and resource management. This qualification opens doors to various career opportunities across government agencies, private enterprises, community organizations, and research institutions.
Bachelor degree in any field, with UQ or equivalent GPA of 4 or above on a 7 point scale; or 2 years of work experience in the same discipline.
English Proficiency
IELTS overall 6.5; reading 6; writing 6; speaking 6; listening 6. For other English Language Proficiency Tests and Scores approved for UQ TOEFL IBT - Overall 87, listening 19, reading 19, writing 21 and speaking 19. TOEFL PB - Overall 570, listening 54, reading 54, writing 59/5. Pearsons - Overall Score of 64 and 60 in all sub bands. BEP - A minimum overall grade of 4 plus a minimum grade of C in all macro skills. CES - Overall 176 and 169 in all sub bands. OET is not accepted.
