This specialization starts by covering design fundamentals, mechatronic systems, theoretical concepts, communication techniques, and ethical considerations. Your coursework will combine mechanical engineering aspects like dynamics and materials with electrical components including circuit architecture.
You'll investigate principles and real-world implementations in fields such as AI, signal processing, systems analysis, and control mechanisms. These concepts will be blended with computer science as you understand the interplay between mechanical and electrical systems.
Annually, you'll undertake a practical, team-based project where you'll conceive and construct a solution for a mechatronic challenge.
Past initiatives have featured compact rescue robots, self-piloted aerial vehicles, automated land and watercraft, and underwater retrieval systems. Your final year will include a dedicated robotics project.
