This dual-degree program merges honors-level engineering studies with complementary scientific disciplines, expanding your career opportunities across diverse industries.
The four-year Bachelor of Engineering (Honours) program builds technical expertise through a core specialization that serves as your professional foundation. You can enhance your specialization by adding a major or minor in cutting-edge engineering fields.
Your selected major can lead to career paths in numerous sectors, ranging from infrastructure development and healthcare to renewable energy and software engineering.
The science component provides one of Australia's most extensive discipline selections, allowing you to cultivate your abilities while following your academic passions. The program includes practical, industry-relevant experience through employability initiatives and work-integrated learning opportunities.
Queensland Year 12 (or equivalent) General English subject (Units 3 & 4, C); Mathematical Methods (Units 3 & 4, C); and one of Chemistry or Physics (Units 3 & 4, C).
Both Chemistry and Physics are recommended subjects. Specialist Mathematics (Units 3 & 4, C) is also a recommended subject. Students studying Specialist Mathematics and both Physics and Chemistry will have increased flexibility in their studies.
Students without Specialist Mathematics (or equivalent) may be required to undertake preparatory courses beyond the 80 units for the program and may not be able to complete the program in the minimum time frame without overloading or undertaking summer study.
English Proficiency
IELTS overall 6.5; reading 6; writing 6; speaking 6; listening 6. For other English Language Proficiency Tests and Scores approved for UQ TOEFL IBT - Overall 87, listening 19, reading 19, writing 21 and speaking 19. TOEFL PB - Overall 570, listening 54, reading 54, writing 59/5. Pearsons - Overall Score of 64 and 60 in all sub bands. BEP - A minimum overall grade of 4 plus a minimum grade of C in all macro skills. CES - Overall 176 and 169 in all sub bands. OET is not accepted.
