This combined degree program enables you to pair engineering studies with diverse arts majors from an extensive selection.
UQ offers Queensland's most comprehensive range of engineering specializations, featuring six primary focus areas: chemical, civil, electrical, mechanical, mechatronic, or software engineering.
You'll enhance your understanding by implementing scientific and engineering concepts to address commercially significant challenges. Beyond technical skills, you'll cultivate vital professional competencies including effective communication, collaborative teamwork, project coordination, analytical problem-solving, and continuous learning.
For the arts component, choose from a broad array of majors - whether exploring linguistics, nurturing musical interests, or selecting a discipline that supports your professional aspirations.
Queensland Year 12 (or equivalent) General English subject (Units 3 & 4, C); Mathematical Methods (Units 3 & 4, C); and one of Chemistry or Physics (Units 3 & 4, C).
Both Chemistry and Physics are recommended subjects. Specialist Mathematics (Units 3 & 4, C) is also a recommended subject. Students studying Specialist Mathematics and both Physics and Chemistry will have increased flexibility in their studies.
Students without Specialist Mathematics (or equivalent) may be required to undertake preparatory courses beyond the 88 units for the program and may not be able to complete the program in the minimum time frame without overloading or undertaking summer study.
