The University of Notre Dame Australia's Doctor of Medicine is a four-year postgraduate program accredited by the Medical Board of Australia through the Australian Medical Council's recommendation. During your third and fourth years, you'll complete clinical rotations across diverse healthcare environments, from aged care centers to urban and rural hospitals, GP clinics, and community health services. Our School of Medicine focuses on cultivating not just medical expertise but also nurturing dedicated healthcare professionals, which is why we evaluate applicants holistically - valuing personal drive, commitment, and purpose alongside academic achievements.
The initial two years employ Problem-Based Learning (PBL) methodology, covering foundational subjects like clinical sciences, public health, medical ethics, and pharmacology.
In your final two years, you'll immerse yourself in clinical practice across various medical specialties including pediatric care and surgical disciplines. This involves completing extended clinical rotations while conducting applied health research. The program offers rural healthcare training options, with select students participating in the Rural Clinical School during their third year.
