As Australia's sole Catholic university medical program, the Doctor of Medicine cultivates compassionate, ethical physicians grounded in values of empathy, dignity, and altruism. Every Notre Dame student completes a Core Curriculum segment, including first-year bioethics studies.

Your initial two years establish crucial medical foundations through problem-based learning with physician tutors, clinical skills training, communication workshops, debriefing sessions, and field visits. During year two, you'll initiate a research or professional project across diverse themes like Clinical Science, Bioethics, Indigenous Health, Rural Medicine, or Healthcare Leadership.

Third-year immerses you in hospital and community clinical rotations, interacting with patients, families, and medical teams. This hands-on approach is enhanced by weekly 'Back-to-Base Days' featuring case studies, grand rounds, journal discussions, and specialist lectures at your primary Clinical School.
