Scientists and lawyers share many similarities. Both scientific and legal minds possess an innate curiosity, challenging conventional wisdom while seeking fresh perspectives and solutions. Legal practitioners mirror this investigative spirit, always exploring creative approaches to resolve complex legal issues. By pursuing a combined Bachelor of Laws/Bachelor of Science at The University of Notre Dame Australia, you'll discover the fascinating intersections between these two dynamic disciplines. The ever-changing scientific landscape, including genetics, biotechnology, and public health sectors, operates within comprehensive legal structures. This five-year full-time dual degree program is ideal for those who want to merge their enthusiasm for legal studies with their scientific interests. The law curriculum is developed in partnership with Australia's leading judicial professionals, offering hands-on learning experiences that cultivate essential abilities like public speaking, legal advocacy, conflict resolution, and courtroom simulation.

The science component of this dual degree emphasizes practical application. Throughout your studies, you'll complete five foundational Science courses plus seven specialized courses in one of four streams: Biology & Environment, Environment & Heritage, Human & Medical Science, or Multidisciplinary Science. A highlight is the third-year Science Internship, a six-week professional placement with government agencies or private organizations locally, nationally, or internationally, where you'll apply your acquired knowledge in data analysis and research methodologies. For additional information, refer to the Bachelor of Science program details. Graduates of this combined degree will possess robust theoretical knowledge and practical skills in both scientific and legal fields, opening doors to diverse career paths such as pharmaceutical research, biotech development, environmental policy, intellectual property law, and beyond.
