Specialists in Natural History Illustration focus on depicting reality, aiming to comprehend and visually represent elements, themes, and phenomena from the natural world. By combining observation, field studies, investigation, teamwork, and studio practice, these illustrators create meticulous artworks that precisely capture intricate shapes, patterns, and stories. This field inherently involves collaboration, with our research students engaging in interdisciplinary projects alongside various industries. Present research initiatives involve partnerships with experts in medical and botanical sciences, ecology, mycology, and archaeology. The artistic results in Natural History Illustration are diverse, encompassing both 2D and 3D works created through traditional and digital techniques. These outputs range from scientific, taxonomic, and reconstructive illustrations to procedural diagrams, infographics, physical models, and digital media such as animations.

Qualification Requirements
i) have satisfied all of the requirements for admission to the degree of Bachelor with Honours Class 1 or Honours Class II, Division 1 or any other degree approved for this purpose by the Head of School; or
ii) have satisfied all the requirements for admission to a degree of Bachelor in the University or another degree approved for this purpose by the Head of School; or
iii) in exceptional cases produce evidence of possessing such other academic or professional qualifications and/or experience as may be approved by the Head of School; or
