The Newcastle Business School's Tourism program focuses on research and education across key sectors like tourism management, sports management, events, and hospitality. Our tourism academics prioritize sustainability as both a theoretical framework and practical approach, demonstrated through rigorous research. Faculty members collaborate extensively with industry partners and local communities to strengthen societal resilience by generating knowledge, fostering learning experiences, addressing challenges, and refining professional practices. The program actively works with businesses to develop thriving, sustainable communities. Recognized for excellence, the Tourism Study Area received the prestigious Tourism Training Australia National Award in 2010. Sustainability principles are integrated throughout the curriculum for Tourism Management and Sports Management majors within the Bachelor of Business and Bachelor of Social Science programs. Our tourism and sports management courses cultivate global awareness and intercultural skills through hands-on learning, industry placements, and international study opportunities, equipping graduates for successful careers in worldwide leisure, tourism, and sports sectors. These programs are offered at both our Newcastle and Central Coast locations.
