Businesses worldwide are increasingly relying on data analytics to guide operational and strategic decisions across diverse sectors including finance, healthcare, scientific research, cybersecurity, national defense, and agricultural industries.
Responding to evolving business and government needs, along with a shortage of professionals skilled in both business management and data analysis, the University of Newcastle has launched a dual degree program combining the Master of Business Administration (Global) with the Master of Science (Data Analytics).
This innovative program equips students with critical knowledge and practical skills to effectively analyze large datasets from various business operations, applicable to multiple organizational types and industry sectors.
Additionally, the curriculum fosters a global perspective, offering deep insights into how business globalization affects various stakeholders, communities, and economic systems. Students will gain expertise in creating practical business models while developing sophisticated abilities to conceptualize, process, examine, and derive meaningful conclusions from complex data sets.
Entry into the Master of Business Administration (Global)/Master of Science (Data Analytics) will be available to applicants who have:
An undergraduate degree (AQF level 7 equivalent), or higher, in a cognate field of study, including data science/analytics, statistics, computer science, engineering, mathematics, information technology, finance, econometrics, or physics.
Applicants with an undergraduate degree (AQF level 7 equivalent), or higher, in other areas with significant quantitative components, including accounting, business, or commerce will be assessed for entry on a case by case basis.
Students from overseas will be required to demonstrate English proficiency to the equivalent of an overall IELTS score of 6.5, with no individual score less than 6.
