The Master of Engineering Science (Civil Engineering) at UNSW is a two-year graduate program offered by the School of Civil and Environmental Engineering. This course is ideal for those holding a four-year accredited engineering qualification, enhancing career opportunities through specialized training or skill diversification.
As one of the most extensive engineering disciplines, Civil Engineering at UNSW allows students to customize their studies according to personal interests, covering diverse specializations such as - Project management, Transport systems, Water and wastewater treatment, Surveying and construction techniques, Structural design, Mechanical systems, Environmental solutions, and Water resource management. You'll expand your engineering expertise within a faculty that emphasizes practical problem-solving and innovative thinking. Graduates will be equipped to contribute to impactful projects that address global challenges and improve communities.
Admission to the standard 2-year program requires one of the following:
4-year Bachelor of Engineering degree from Australia or accredited under the Washington Accord in one of the cognate disciplines below with a minimum 65% average*.
3-year Bachelor of Engineering degree from the United Kingdom in one of the cognate disciplines below with a minimum 65% average*.
4-year Bachelor of Science degree majoring in Civil Engineering with a minimum 65% average*.
Students with this background may still be assessed for advanced standing on a case-by-case basis.
English Language Requirements:
IELTS: 6.5 overall (min. 6.0 in each subtest); TOEFL IBT (Internet Based): 90 overall (min. 23 in writing, 22 in reading, listening and speaking); Pearson (PTE - Academic): 64 overall (min. 54 in each subtest); C1 Advanced Cambridge: 176 overall (min. 169 in each subtest); C2 Proficiency Cambridge: 180 overall (min. 180 in each subtest); UNSW Global University English Entry Course (UEEC): Successful completion with a minimum overall grade of C+ and a minimum grade of C in the writing component.
