The Master of Teaching (Primary) at UNSW stands out as Australia's sole postgraduate program of its kind, offering an accelerated pathway to becoming a primary school educator. This innovative two-year equivalent qualification can be finished in just 1.3 years through full-time study (four terms). Created in collaboration with the NSW Department of Education and regional primary school communities, and officially recognized by the NSW Education Standards Authority (NESA), this program prepares graduates to teach from kindergarten through year six across various settings - including public and private primary schools throughout Australia and internationally. You'll gain all necessary competencies to fulfill the Australian graduate teacher standards while learning from a combination of academic experts and practicing primary educators. The curriculum covers fundamental education principles alongside specialized teaching methods for all six core primary subjects: English, Mathematics, Science and Technology, History and Geography, Creative Arts, and Personal Development, Health and Physical Education.
