The Master of Science research program serves as foundational training in advanced academic study and investigative methods. Students develop core research competencies while mastering innovative techniques. This curriculum may incorporate structured coursework aimed at equipping participants for their thesis projects. While requiring original research, the scope and novelty of these investigations are typically more contained compared to doctoral requirements. The program fosters creative thinking, while providing close guidance during initial problem definition phases and when applying unfamiliar methodologies.
