The UNSW Master of Public Policy and Governance is a two-year full-time postgraduate program that examines contemporary policy, research, and management challenges through a social science lens. This master's degree equips students with the analytical capabilities and practical understanding necessary for careers involving policymaking, policy evaluation, and implementation. The program cultivates essential competencies for assessing, evaluating, and understanding the nuances of public policy. Students will investigate how research, public policy, and governance influence various stakeholders, including clients, customers, and the general population.
For the 1 year stream
Honours degree or Graduate Diploma (or equivalent qualification) in a relevant discipline with a record of academic achievement equivalent to a UNSW credit average of 65%.
Bachelor degree (or equivalent qualification) in a relevant discipline with a record of academic achievement equivalent to a UNSW credit average of 65%, plus one year relevant professional experience.
For the 2 year stream
Bachelor degree (or equivalent qualification) in any discipline with a record of academic achievement equivalent to a UNSW credit average of 65%.
English Language Requirements:
IELTS: 7.0 overall (min. 6.0 in each subtest); TOEFL IBT (Internet Based): 94 overall (min. 25 in writing, 23 in reading, listening and speaking); Pearson (PTE - Academic): 65 overall (min. 54 in each subtest); C1 Advanced Cambridge: 185 overall (min. 169 in each subtest); C2 Proficiency Cambridge: 185 overall (min. 180 in each subtest); UNSW Global University English Entry Course (UEEC): Successful completion with a minimum overall grade of B and a minimum grade of C in the writing component.
