Financial Technology (FinTech) represents a dynamic sector within finance where technological innovations improve and transform financial services, creating significant industry disruptions. Prominent examples include digital payment platforms (PayPal, WeChat, Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies), investment management (utilizing Big Data, AI, and machine learning), automated advisory services (robo-advisors), alternative banking solutions (short-term loans and peer-to-peer lending), advanced trading systems (high-frequency trading), and decentralized finance (built on cryptocurrency and blockchain technology). Both traditional financial institutions and tech companies actively seek professionals in this domain, as FinTech solutions are inherently scalable and can profoundly influence financial services. Designed in collaboration with finance industry specialists, this program teaches students core financial principles, products, markets, and institutions while examining how emerging technologies enable FinTech companies to divert customers from conventional financial systems - revolutionizing global money management, transfers, lending, and investment practices. The curriculum also provides foundational knowledge of financial theory, markets, and service providers.
