Expand your understanding of language structure and usage, learning how to implement it effectively. Acquire hands-on experience in utilizing linguistics across various contexts and build a career profile centered on language. The UNSW Master of Applied Linguistics is a two-year full-time postgraduate program designed to equip you with linguistic expertise for effective intercultural communication in diverse professional, educational, and interdisciplinary environments. Upon graduation, you'll be prepared for careers in multiple sectors, analyzing language patterns across various domains. You'll create language technologies, enhance cross-cultural communication, and potentially collaborate with local communities or support immigrant populations. Your skills will enable you to study first and second language learning while examining specialized discourses found in political, healthcare, legal, and academic environments.
For the 2 year stream (C)
A Bachelor Degree or equivalent with a record of academic achievement equivalent to a UNSW credit average of 65%.
It is expected that a Graduate Diploma will have been completed after an undergraduate degree.
English Language Requirements:
IELTS: 7.0 overall (min. 6.0 in each subtest); TOEFL IBT (Internet Based): 94 overall (min. 25 in writing, 23 in reading, listening and speaking); Pearson (PTE - Academic): 65 overall (min. 54 in each subtest); C1 Advanced Cambridge: 185 overall (min. 169 in each subtest); C2 Proficiency Cambridge: 185 overall (min. 180 in each subtest); UNSW Global University English Entry Course (UEEC): Successful completion with a minimum overall grade of B and a minimum grade of C in the writing component.
