The Graduate Diploma in Flying (GDF) is tailored for graduates aspiring to become professional pilots. Learners can pursue the GDF as an independent course or combine it with the Bachelor of Aviation (Management) program.
This diploma includes practical training and evaluations for obtaining a Commercial Pilot License (CPL) and Instrument Rating (IR), along with theoretical coursework. Successful completion of all components, including earning the CPL and IR certifications, is required to graduate with the GDF qualification.

Qualification Requirements

To gain entry to this program, students must: Have completed a Bachelor of Aviation (Management) undergraduate degree at UNSW or equivalent, or an AQF level 7 Bachelor Degree in a cognate discipline, or Have satisfactorily completed the equivalent of 1 year FTE of the Bachelor of Aviation (Management) or Bachelor of Aviation (Flying) program at UNSW or equivalent, and Have satisfactorily completed Flight Screening conducted at the UNSW Flying Operations Unit, and Hold an Australian Class 1 Aviation Medical Certificate Hold an Australian Aviation Security Identification Card Be an Australian citizen or Permanent Resident IELTS - 6.5 overall (min. 6.0 in each subtest) TOEFL iBT - 90 overall (min. 23 in writing, 22 in reading, listening and speaking)
