The Doctor of Public Health (DrPH) is a three-year full-time program designed for participants selected for the UNSW Future Health Leaders Program. Candidates are recommended by their employers, with final admission determined by UNSW's selection process. This program delivers comprehensive coursework and practical research training in public health applications. Students will complete rigorous structured coursework focusing on essential competencies, undertake field placements, and produce a thesis. The curriculum features single-day workshops and training sessions addressing diverse subjects including Indigenous health, cultural competency, substance abuse, medical confidentiality, correctional healthcare, public health legislation, and migrant health.

Qualification Requirements

The minimum academic requirement for admission to the Doctor of Philosophy is one of the
following:
a. an appropriate four year degree of Bachelor with first or upper second class Honours from
the University of New South Wales, or
b. a Masters by Research or Masters of Philosophy from the University of New South Wales
with a substantial research component and demonstrated capacity for timely completion of a
high quality research thesis, or
c. a qualification from a tertiary institution at a level considered equivalent by the Faculty HDC
to 1.2.1 (a) or (b).

IELTS - 6.5 overall (min. 6.0 in each subtest)
TOEFL iBT - 90 overall (min. 23 in writing, 22 in reading, listening and speaking)
