Environmental engineers specialize in assessing how engineering projects affect nature. They utilize their extensive expertise in both engineering principles and environmental systems to pinpoint ecological issues and create practical remedies. These professionals also oversee collaboration between different expert teams, including biologists, ecologists, and geologists, on large-scale initiatives. The field of Environmental Engineering incorporates elements of Civil Engineering, particularly focusing on administration, infrastructure planning, water resources, soil mechanics, and transportation systems. Additionally, it intersects with Chemical Engineering, biological sciences applications, and environmental research. To prepare you for professional practice, you'll gain hands-on experience through a 60-day industry placement program.
There are several admission pathways to an undergraduate degree at UNSW including high school qualifications, UNSW Foundation Studies, UNSW Diploma, recognised prior study or university transfer.
