The UNSW Bachelor of Criminology & Criminal Justice is a three-year full-time or part-time equivalent six-year undergraduate program that examines crime origins, deviant behavior, social regulation, and legal frameworks. This interdisciplinary degree combines expertise from the School of Law, Society and Criminology with the School of Social Sciences to provide a comprehensive view of criminal phenomena. The curriculum employs practical learning methods, including real-world case analyses and experiential learning, to offer students deep understanding of justice system components. These expanding academic disciplines present growing opportunities to influence communities impacted by crime and transform related social systems. Students will analyze both historical and contemporary challenges such as substance policies, gender-based violence, criminal networks, and disproportionate Indigenous incarceration rates. The program also covers major criminal justice institutions - law enforcement, judicial systems, and correctional facilities - and their societal effects.
